01 / Where we began
Lagu was founded by Kendrick Co and launched in the Philippines in January 2012. It began with a practical idea: a beach blanket that repels sand, dries quickly, and rolls up easily for the journey home.
Our first beach blankets were made by our sewing community in Biñan, Laguna. The people making the product were part of Lagu’s story from the beginning.
02 / The people who make it
After the pandemic, our production moved to Taytay, Rizal. Our beach blankets continue to be made by our sewing community, carrying forward the connection that began in Biñan.
When you unroll a Lagu, you are holding something with a Philippine beginning and people behind its making.
03 / A shared love of the coast
Leaving sand on the beach is part of the idea behind Lagu. Our sand-repellent blanket offers a practical way to leave less sand clinging to your beach gear.
Over the years, Lagu has worked with conservation groups including Greenpeace, Balyena.org, and Save Philippine Seas. These past collaborations are part of our ongoing story and our connection to the coast.
